Limbus Mono LED Pendant Light by Lumina
Design by Emanuele Ricci
Limbus is a direct light pendant lamp designed by Emanuele Ricci. It looks like a small luminous planet shining its light downwards. Its name, Limbus, is Latin for edge, border, confine.
It consists of a glass sphere and an aluminium ring that horizontally separates the two hemispheres, made of thick Bohemian patterned glass. The bottom hemisphere is the optical component: it produces direct light shining downward at an angle of 60°, so the lamp can be looked at without glare outside the cone of light. The top hemisphere protects the internal components against dust and insects. The central 3-spoke aluminium ring is made in-house on CNC lathes and supports all the components, and the crown-shaped aluminium nucleus directs the light and illuminates the glass body. The nucleus can be accessed for maintenance by simply unscrewing the bottom hemisphere.
Available with clear glass or with frosted glass (Limbus Mono Frosted).
